Many years ago, I worked at a large urban medical center. After work one day, I was walking across the sky bridge with one of the Catholic Sisters. I casually commented on the dreary weather and charcoal gray skies, saying “I wish the sun would come out.” She punched me (really hard) on my right bicep and sternly responded, “The sun is out; you’re just not looking for it.”
Her great observation has stuck with me for many years and I think about it every now and again when I need a change in attitude. (But that punch seriously hurt!) Weather doesn’t dictate your life - you do. The sun is always out.
It’s all part of the adventure,
